The race for AI dominance is feverish and fast, and the latest AI darling to spring into the race is DeepSeek AI, a Chinese company that came out of nowhere to jump to the front of the fray. Questions remain about their claims of speed, cost and processing chips used for training. However the question we should all be asking before downloading this app is, “What are the risks with downloading and installing this app on your desktop or mobile device?” Mark got out his magnifying glass and read through the DeepSeek privacy policy to find it vague and questionable, with policies that border on intrusive. Pair that with the fact your data is housed in mainland China with laws that allow for unlimited government access to data and you have to wonder what all the chatter is about.
